Our Library participated in the 15th International Kocaeli Book Fair, which was held with the theme of "Anatolian Maya" from October 4-12, with the partnership of Kocaeli Governorship, Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality, Kocaeli Chamber of Commerce and our University, with its audiobook project "Give Your Voice to Overcome Obstacles."
The audiobook project, which we launched last year for our visually impaired users within the scope of the Kocaeli Book Fair and attracted great attention, was realized this year again in the audio booth prepared in cooperation with Kocaeli University and Kocaeli Metropolitan Municipality.
Within the scope of this project, which we carried out with the participation of our students and citizens to raise social awareness, 160 people sang Serkan Bayram’s song “Buğday Grain” and 195 people sang Fatma Eyi’s song “Yalnız Sen Varsın”.
A certificate of appreciation printed in Braille was presented to our participants who provided voice-over services within the scope of the project.
Book dubbing and digitization efforts, conducted by the Accessible Library Unit of Kocaeli University's Library and Documentation Department, are ongoing at Umuttepe Central Library. On behalf of our library, we would like to thank our volunteers for their contributions to these efforts, which will be available to all visually impaired citizens through the Kocaeli University Audio Library website (Kocaeli University Audio Library).
