The library is an open, public space. Users must act respectfully and responsibly, avoiding infringement of others' rights. All areas of the library should be used quietly, kept clean, and handled with care.

Except for thesis and periodical collections, all library materials are accessible through an open shelf system. However, it is prohibited to reproduce any part of the resources using photocopying or electronic methods, as per Law No. 5846 on Intellectual and Artistic Works.

To protect library equipment and collections and to prevent odors, noise, and pollution, bringing food or drinks (except water) into the reading rooms is not permitted. Users are not allowed to rearrange furniture.

Talking on mobile phones is prohibited inside the library. Users should switch their electronic devices to silent mode upon entering the library. When engaging in activities involving audio elements such as listening to music, watching videos, or participating in online courses, headphones must be used.

Filming or taking photographs with cameras or other devices is prohibited inside the library without permission from the Department.

Group work is only allowed in designated areas within the library. Those using reading rooms for purposes other than intended will be asked to leave the library.

Personal belongings cannot be left on study desks to reserve space. Unattended personal items will be collected.

The library does not accept items on deposit; users are responsible for any lost or forgotten items. Security cameras are used solely to ensure internal security (of the collection, equipment, etc.); requests to view security camera footage will not be entertained.

Users are required to show their bags and materials to the attendant when passing through the library building's security system. Unauthorized attempts to remove materials will be dealt with through legal means.

The use of any tools or equipment that may endanger the library building or facilities (such as water heaters, stoves, etc.) is prohibited. Tools found in use will be collected and disposed of; legal action will be taken against users causing damage to the facility or materials.

Users must comply with both general and specific usage rules determined by the library across all Kocaeli University Libraries. Users who do not comply with the rules and disregard warnings will be asked to leave the library. Users who receive a second warning for the same reasons will be denied library services.
