Purpose

The purpose of Reference Services is to inform users about the effective use of Kocaeli University Library resources and to provide education and consultation support to enhance information search behaviors.

Consultation and User Education

1. Reference services are provided to all user groups.
2. Assistance is offered on how to search resources to meet users' information needs and guide their research.
3. Face-to-face consultations are conducted during working hours.
4. Users can request consultation services via phone or email in addition to face-to-face meetings.
5. Communication with users is also maintained through library social media accounts.
6. The Reference Unit organizes user education sessions at various levels and with diverse content on utilizing the library collection and services as deemed appropriate.
7. Details about the type, location, and timing of education sessions are announced on the library website, social media platforms, etc.
8. Users can request education sessions by emailing kutuphanedanisma@kocaeli.edu.tr with necessary information (Name, Title/Class, Department/Student ID, Email, Phone) via institutional email addresses. (Users without institutional email addresses can create accounts via the BILSIS Email Information Systems provided by the Information Processing Directorate.)
9. User education sessions are conducted both face-to-face and online. For online sessions, necessary connection details are communicated to participating users via email in advance.
