Internship Conditions

We accept interns from the Information and Documentation Management Department who are in their second year or higher during the summer months (July-August) only.

Internship applications are accepted in February and March. Applicants must submit a handwritten application form (approved by the department), a transcript showing all previously taken courses, and a resume (brief autobiography) either in person or by mail to our institution.

Applicants will receive feedback via email by the end of April (no later than the first week of May).

A maximum of 4 students, with a maximum of 2 students at a time, are accepted for internships, and the final internship dates are determined by our Directorate.

Accepted interns must submit a letter to our Directorate, written by their departmental internship coordinators, at least two weeks before the designated internship period, along with a letter from their university confirming the student's insurance coverage for the duration of the internship, to our library internship coordinator.

Internship Scope

During the internship period at Kocaeli University Library, interns are encouraged to interact with all departments, engage in various practices, and learn about university librarianship to discover their own interests and abilities.

At the beginning of the internship period, interns are provided with a pre-determined calendar of activities and practices spanning 20 business days.

Interns must adhere to the rules applicable to library staff (working hours, general working rules, etc.) throughout the internship.

Interns who do not comply with the internship program or general working rules may be dismissed from the program (reapplication by a dismissed intern is not accepted).

Interns are responsible for their own expenses during the internship, including meals and transportation.
